RUSSIA-INDIA BUSINESS DIALOGUE

On the first day of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and Union Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma participated in a business-dialogue between Russia and India.

They noticed that the two countries are involved in an exclusive strategic partnership, which is based on comprehensive trade and economic and investment relations. The parties have discussed prospective extension of bilateral cooperation and addressed both systemic issues of cooperation and the implementation of specific projects in areas such as energy, industry, transport and communications, IT and high technologies, pharmaceuticals and agriculture.

Oleg Sienko’s, CEO of OJSC «Research and Production Corporation «Uralvagonzavod» participated in the business dialogue. In his speech, he pointed out a serious contribution of the UVZ to the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries. «The Corporation is well known in the Indian market in the field of military-technical cooperation. Still, Uralvagonzavod capabilities and its product range are much wider. In this respect, we are looking forward to the implementation of plans for the development of a mutually beneficial partnership between Russia and India in the civil sphere», Sienko said.

The leader of «Uralvagonzavod» noted that being a leader of the Russian Transport Engineering, the corporation is ready for partnership with the Ministry of Railways of India in terms of expansion and modernization of production facilities. «By using all the latest technology at our disposal, we are able to offer cooperation in joint development and production of freight cars, components of structures and parts production, creating assembly lines,» — said in his speech, CEO of «Uralvagonzavod».
